On 31st October 2011 the National Trust took the difficult decision of withdrawing the Planning Application for a new cafe facility and cycle trails at the site due to the discovery of a restrictive covenant which affects the site of the proposed cafe. We anticipate a re-submission of the full application in mid-2012. To find full details of this withdrawl and keep up-to-date with progress visit the which will be updated regularly. Plymbridge’s excellent access by bike, foot and public transport and its proximity to a large population provides a great opportunity for as many people as possible to benefit from the proposed trails. The proposed facility will be an asset for the local population and will encourage visitors to Plymouth. The proposed cycling trails are aimed at novice and intermediate riders who, we believe, are not currently catered for in the area and are a rapidly growing group.
By providing a formal trail the Trust wishes to encourage responsible and considerate enjoyment of this site. The National Trust is a body with conservation at its core and has worked hard to conserve the wildlife value of these woodlands for many years, and will continue to manage the woodlands with conservation at the forefront and would like to increase the opportunities for members of the public to enjoy and appreciate the woodlands.
