Cycling is one of the most popular activities in Bristol and what is more, it’s free! Situated close to the Ashton Court Estate and Leigh Woods, it attracts riders from all across Europe. With such a range of trails on offer, our Adventure Cycle Map will help you plan your route across Bristol and the surrounding areas.
One option is The Nova Trail, graded blue (moderate), which gives a great flowing ride. In places the trail splits to provide blue (moderate) and red (difficult) graded options. You could also try the longer Super Nova Trail that is graded red (difficult), branching off from the Nova Trail, that will challenge the more experienced riders.
Another option is the Yer Tiz Trail in neighbouring Leigh Woods – a ‘moderate’ blue grade narrow and engaging trail winding its way through the woods. The trail features berms (banked corners), rollers (bumps) and drops and climbs, requiring a mountain bike but suitable for relative novices to off-road cycling. The woods are popular with walkers, dog walkers and families so expect to meet others on your travels.
’s map contains over 3,000km of trails, as well as information on important ‘facilities’ such as bike hire companies, bike sales and cyclist friendly accommodation.
To help plan your visit to Bristol, visit the map here. To see a demonstration of how to use the map watch our instructional video. Whilst the map should help you establish a route with confidence, we strongly advise that you take an Ordnance Survey map or similar if you are planning a Landscape Ride on public rights of way.
If you are the owner of facilities such as bike shops and hire centres, the map is available for you to upload your information. If you run an off-road cycling related facility then you can use the ‘suggest a facility’ function to add your business details.
