With oil and gas prices set to continue to rise it makes sense for us all to think about whether we could make use of the fantastic natural resources we have in this part of the world to generate our own energy. What’s more we now have wide range of local businesses that can install anything from solar panels or heat pumps to wind turbines.
The Renewable Energy Marketplace – which takes place on 8 March 2012 at Westpoint arena, near – has been established as the event where anyone can come and find out more about what’s on offer. It brings together some 100 expert companies providing the full range of renewable and energy efficient technologies with expert seminars covering all you need to know about choosing the right solution for you – and how to earn money from renewable energy. Whether you are a famer or landowner, a tourism business, part of the construction sector, a community group, responsible for public buildings and land – or just thinking about what to do in your own home – this is the event for you.
The event is run by local renewable experts Regen SW in partnership with Good Energy, NFU, Mole Valley Farmers, Forestry Commission, the Energy Saving Trust, Devon and Cornwall Business Council and many more.
Over 1,200 customers attended the event in March 2011, testament to the growing interest in the sector. Many exhibitors said that they were overwhelmed by the response from potential customers and were inundated with enquiries and orders.

Renewable Energy marketplace brings together everything they need in one day in one place, providing information, education, and a whole raft of solutions from renewables companies that can help them start their journey to energy self-sufficiency.”
Renewable Energy marketplace centres around a large exhibition that covers all renewables technologies including biomass boilers, heat pumps, wind turbines, anaerobic digestion, hydro, solar thermal, solar panels as well as woodfuel and energy efficiency. Many exhibitors have examples of the equipment on offer so you can look first hand at all the options.
The event will also include a series of short-but-detailed workshops run by experts covering the different technologies and their benefits, details of the government incentives and remaining grant opportunities, and also further detail for those already pushing ahead with projects. If you want to know the latest on the government’s Feed-in Tariff, Renewable Heat incentive and Green Deal the officials from the Department of Energy and Climate Change will be there to help.
This year there will also be surgeries run by local experts where you can drop in and ask questions about legal implications, tax and planning permission; as well as find out about courses on renewable energy.
