1SW BIKE TRAILS

Roadford Lake Country Park

With over 730 acres of water Roadford is a magnet for those who want to enjoy watersports, but don’t forget to bring your bike too!

There’s plenty to do at this spectacular lake set on the edge of Dartmoor, including walking, cycling, watersports, camping, or a stop at the cafe and Visitor Centre.

The green (easy) grade Roadford Roller follows the lakeside before heading into the woodland and looping around back home, making a short, gentle pedal for all the family. The blue (moderate) grade Roadford Rollercoaster leaves the Roadford Roller to venture deeper into the woods on narrower single track trail, with twists, turns, climbs and descents that ease you into more adventurous off-road cycling.

How to get there:

Public Transport – Western Greyhound operate the 510 service between & Newquay. Lifton is the closest stop to Roadford Lake on this service (approximately 5.5 miles).

Carmel Coaches operate a Friday only service (188) from Halwill Junction to Tavistock stopping at Broadwoodwidger which is a short walk from Roadford Lake. Walkers and cyclists are most welcome and there is a cycle rack for bike parking at Lakeside for the cafe and visitor centre.

Location – Roadford Lake Country Park, between Okehampton & Launceston, Devon PL16 0RL. Map ref: LR190 421900
