Mud And Sweat: Night Rider

The inaugural Night Rider event will take place at Haldon Forest Park on Saturday 7th December 2013.

mud and sweat Night riderIt will be a unique night cross-country race – the first to ever be granted permission to run at Haldon. You will follow a set marked route within the forest, all under the cover of darkness, and will do a number of laps, dependent on whether you enter the Long or Short courses (estimated distances – 20km and 10km).

This event is only open to riders over the age of 18.

Mud and Sweat Duathlon

The Mud and Sweat Duathlon event will take place at Brimpt’s Farm, near Dartmeet on Dartmoor on Saturday 23rd November 2013.

RaceIt will be all off-road and will consist of a run (5km), bike (15km) and run (2.5km), with all runners/riders following a set marked route/laps.

The routes take you through mixed terrain of single track forests, woodland tracks and farmland. The running route is a 2.5km lap, so for the first run, participants will do 2 laps. The biking route is a 5km lap (so you will ride 3 laps). The final run will be 1 more lap of the running route.

This event is only open to runners/riders over the age of 18. 16’s and over may enter, as long as they run/ride with an adult.

Exmoor Beast

The Exmoor Beast has been running now for 6 years and is without doubt the biggest end of season event in the calander.

Exmoor BeastIt has the best safety cover and the organisation is one that runs events with military precision. There are two routes, one for 100km and one for 100miles. The start and finish HQ is moving to Tiverton for 2013 which gives it more parking and the full facilities including toilets and showers etc. The course is not easy and is the ride you do to test yourself before you relax for Christmas. Two feed stations on each course, timing, 8 safety vehicles and moto marshals.

The route is a road route with different cat climbs. You must train for this event and ensure you arrive with the correct clothing in case the October weather closes in!

VDO Run Rider Off-Road Duathlon

RunRiderThe Run Rider is the latest addition to the Bristol off road calendar and will offer the runners/riders one of the best courses in the country. Being run in conjunction with popular Bristol Oktoberfest (www.bike-fest.com) the Run Rider will not just benefit from one of the most fun to ride mountain bike courses but will also deliver a tough but beautiful running course.

The event will take place on Sunday 13th October 2013 and rather than offering only one distance the VDO RunRider will have three – a Mini, Standard and a Classic option – so that everyone can find the right distance and level of challenge.

Location for the VDO RunRider will be Ashton Court, Bristol. Easy to get to and just a stones throw away from the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the centre of Bristol itself.

So if you are a runner with a bike, a biker with some running shoes or a dedicated tri-athlete or duathlon competitor, come along and have a go at this fantastic event.

Mud and Sweat: Mud Run

The inaugural Mud and Sweat Mud Run event, will take place at The River Dart Country Park near Ashburton in South Devon on Sunday 13th October 2013.

It will be an exciting and tough 10km off road running race – expect some small natural and man-made obstacles and plenty of mud!

This event is only open to runners over the age of 18. 16’s and over may enter, as long as they run with an adult.

Mud & Sweat: Mini Moor Enduro

The Mini Moor Enduro event will take place in the heart of Dartmoor on Sunday 29th September 2013.

splashIt will consist of a number of timed cross country stages on the moor – picking the best of the areas, with a selection of stages. Stages will take place on bridleways, tracks, open moorland and forested areas around the Princetown and Burrator area. Competitors will ride between the stages, in their own time, within the overall completion time of 6 hours. You can enter either the Full Long Event (5 Stages), with the overall distance likely to be approximately 35km, or you can enter the Short Event (3 Stages), with the overall distance likely to be approximately 27km. Each stage varies in length and style, being between 3-9km each. 95% of the entire route is off-road!

The event centre will be at Princetown Primary School.

The winner will be the rider with the shortest accumulative time from all five stages. This event is only open to riders over the age of 18. 16’s and over may enter, as long as they ride with an adult.

UDHC 4: Urban Downhill Charity Event

Downhill fun in the city.

UDHC4This year the race will be open to anyone regardless of age! The track is currently being designed with that in mind and information will be released when it is finalised.

There will be other activities on-site aimed at all the family such as mobile zip-line, bouncy castles, BBQ, water walking and more.

Races will be followed by a night out in the Student Union in the evening (entry is included with a valid wristband, if you don’t have a wrist band you will have to pay). Guests of riders will benefit from a 50% reduction in entry costs to the afterparty.

Online entries close 3 days prior to the event. On the day entries will be accepted so long as there are spaces available – 150 entrants max. No Exceptions, strictly first come first served.

Forest of Dean MTB Enduro

10, 20 or 40 miles of superb forest riding in the beautiful Forest of Dean. This corresponds to one, two or four laps of a 100% off-road course.

This event is organised by the Lions Clubs of the Forest of Dean with valuable assistance from the Royal Dean Forest Cycling Club. All profits from the event will be given away to local good causes. The Enduro Committee and Marshals have all given their time for free.

In the Team event all 4 members of the team start together. The times for each team member will be added together.

A weekend downhill fun and competition at Gawton Gravity Hub.

SW DH ChampsRace format for the weekend as follows:

Saturday: Full practice day 09:30-17:00

Sunday: Practice 09:00 until 11:45. Race runs starting at 12:30-13:00.

The weekend will be FULLY UPLIFTED, and entry will include camping onsite and possible evening entertainment.
