will be supporting the national Summer of Cycling celebration which was launched at the House of Commons on 14 March.
The campaign, championed by the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group in association with the Bicycle Association of Great Britain, aims to get more people cycling than ever before. If we all encouraged one friend or family member to take up cycling we would double the number of cyclists in Britain – and there has never been a better time to take up cycling.
As we at know, our region offers some of the best and most accessible off-road cycling there is. We don’t mean big scary rollercoasters heading down remote mountainsides. We mean well built, sustainable, fun and safe adventurous trails that are the stuff of family days out or weekends with mates.
There is a real momentum to promote cycling in the South West at the moment and more trails and facilities are being built all the time. Check out our Interactive Adventure Cycle Map to see what’s available near you. We’re adding more all the time.
This summer will also see a host of cycling events across the country, from the London Olympics, to the Tour of Britain (returning to the South West again this year), to a wealth of local cycling events large and small.
The Summer of Cycling campaign is open to all organisations, businesses, and clubs as well as individuals. Details of the campaign can be found at .
