Tamar Lake Trail Opens, Bude

Local School children ride the trail

Friday 1st April saw the official opening of the Tamar ‘Tootle’ easy (green) grade cycle trail at Upper Tamar Lake near Bude.

On the same day the new wheelchair friendly wheelyboat and Tramper buggy were launched at the site, enabling people with impaired mobility to get out on, and around the lake with their friends and families.

The cycle trail was delivered by our partner South West Lakes Trust.  The trail is a beautiful 3 miles loop of the whole of lake, and is perfect with tag-alongs, trailers or small children as well as being a great un-wind for any rider.

The site has a whole host of other activities on offer to compliment the cycling including sailing and canoeing so makes a great family day out.  Visit for more information about the site click here
